I dont know if im stupid or something but on the X360 we could use as many "trials" as we had. Now the Xbone is telling me. I have had a gold membership before so i should give my codes to a friend. Dudes times are tough. My gold ran out and i dont
have enough $$ to get another year until at least next week. Cut me some slack guys for God's sake!

I've used them so no, is there any chance you've let a subscription run over (i.e. they turned on auto renew - then resulted in a failed payment), if that's the case they lock the account until the time you overplayed is 'repaid'.

 

That is funny if it's true. Remember the good old Xbox days when you could use your 1 month free trials without using a credit card set to auto renew? I guess they are stepping up there cash grab.

 

Well MS are known for being a money grabbing corporation, and before they say that applies to all companies. Some want your money more then others, and that definitely applies to MS!

If you used a credit or debit card you can check, go to billing.microsoft.com, it'll show the past payments. If it ended and you got to play beyond that date your account is blocked - you won't be able to use pre-paid or trial codes until the balance is
resolved. I had a massive argument about this a year ago when a pre-paid wouldn't work.
