Complaint about adding child to XB1

This is just a rant, folks, so apologies in advance. I've been through all the help sections and I already know how to add a family member. I know that in order to add a child to my XBox One I have to get her an email and register her with Microsoft.

I think this is absolutely ridiculous.

On the 360 I could set up a player account for my minor children and they could play whatever I deemed appropriate. I am
not getting a Microsoft account and email for a seven-year-old! If we want to play Minecraft together, we'll just keep doing it on the more limited 360 version.

I think this is the worst change that Microsoft made from the 360. Even getting the kid on to play as a "guest" is a major pain in the rear. (A 6-digit-passcode? In my own home? Seriously??!?)

I hope that in some future update, MS gives serious consideration to allowing child players to play games on
my system without having to offer up their identity to the corporate machine. The 360 had it right. Please put it back the way it used to be, and thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

Adding child to account

I am trying to add an my child to my XBox live account, and it has asked for credit card details. I have put those in, it is charging me $0.50 and then says I have to press confirm. There is no confirm button. Anybody else had these problems?

Why don't you head for xbox.uservoice.com and see if there exists a suggestion on the subject, or make a suggestion in the apropriate section that other users can wote for.. from what I understand that's better than ranting about it here on the forums..

I beg to differ with the above poster... yes, while his suggested course of action -is- valid, you can also feel free to navigate your web browser over to
support.xbox.com/contact-us and follow the following steps....

click on the green products tab and select xbox live
then under category, click on online privacy and safety
from there navigate to the bottom right hand corner of the screen, where you will find an option to have your local customer service call you back

While you should definitely do all of the things the above poster suggested, I, being a father myself know how concerning these things can be. This seems to be a rather urgent situation, and this needs to be dealt with as sternly as possibly. I would urge
you, if these threats include violence, to see what your local phone support can offer in the way of providing some help to law enforcement. These things cannot be taken seriously enough in this day and age.

Also, while on the phone with phone support, they should be able to help you with any other issues, such as your lost XBL gold subscription. These are added benefits that you cannot and will not receive by simply reporting and blocking via the console.

I think the best thing to do about the remaining xbox gold subscription, is call Xbox Support and explain the situation and you might get a refund from the UK account, since you won't be able to buy stuff with that UK one (as far as I know) because you live
in Australia now (The accounts are regional)
