    Compatibility with flash drives


    I have an Xbox 360, the original white one and I transferred programs onto a flash drive from a bell PVR box, the Xbox wants to configure the flash drive ( it's a SanDisk 2.0 64GB) which means everything on there will be erased..does anyone know why? The internal hard drive is not in the Xbox. Also ..why does it want to take up the space on the flash drive?

    Hi DARKWOLF7820,

    The flash drive or hard drive has to be 250GB minium however with flash drives you have to make sure its compatible with consoles as some are not san disk flash drives are compatable as they and segate have made xbox hard drives for the console.

    If the flash drive is not that big in size it wont allow to be used for such content I do apologise.

    Can I use a 32GB flash drive?

    I literally just formatted a 32 gb sandisk flash drive and it said that all flash drives are compatible up to 32gb. The flash drive had 29.5 gb available after it was formatted.

    But you can't use it as a game drive

    You have to decline to format it

    But can never use it as a game saves or game drive if you don't format it.

    And no you can't use it for media storage afterwards without losojg the game drive function

    You are more better to use vlc on xbox or use media centers function of your pc

    Doesn't hurt to try a USB flash drive. The 4 GB in your system is a flash drive, so it's possible the particular update isn't compatible with that specific format.
