    Hi,

    My son received a communications suspension yesterday, and while I don't condone his verbiage (use of an common acronym), this is a ridiculous and unfair process. We are all aware of players that bait others
    into arguing in order to get them blocked. All conversations, positive and negative, between players fall under the First Amendment representing Freedom of Speech and should not be subject to the interpretation of someone not privy to the entire exchange
    both verbal and action oriented. In addition, this is a “Mature” game so the expectation is that all playing should be able to handle rough exchanges cast in the heat of “battle.”

    Immediately after being muted, the person who reported him began messaging him mockingly. Please explain how this is fair.

    I would suggest a limit on the number of "complaints" a player can file before they become the center of a similar review/penalty process. This might alleviate the abuse of the system in general.

    Lastly, when I went to look for contact info to actually talk to about the process, I ran into several extremely rude comments from customer service representatives to other parents inquiring about similar issues. How old are your representatives? I have
    been in customer service my entire working career and would have been duly reprimanded and forced to apologize - especially to a paying customer!

    I would suggest setting his account so they cant talk or message people that are only on their friends list

    While games are rated M, everything else on Live is not and must remain E for everyone. You agree to this when you sign up and agreed to to code of conduct/terms of service. Freedom of speech does not apply since Microsoft is not part of the government.

    I truly understand what you mean and the picture that you're portraying honestly i myself recieved a lot of offensive messages in the past but to be a better person i didn't react to it i just let it be. And a lot of individuals choose to react just like
    the person who blasphemed them but its better to turn away from it and be peaceful, figthing fire with fire won't help. Whether or not your son started the argument he was wrong also because he exchanged words he should of just leave him and report the player
    and this is what this whole programme is about. Gamers should be comfortable gaming it happen to many times in the past where some gamers can't be at peace because of the way they are being treated and its all because they're trying to be themselves in whatever
    genre of game. We really need to stand together and be postive and also different once we stand together this whole gaming community shall more or less be a great unit together.

    It is important to always keep a cool head even when in a heated confrontation. Next time it is better to mute the offending players, and report any messages they might send. In the long run, you and your son will save yourselves a headache.
