Communications Ban

Hello, I've exhausted all possible resources for a response. My GT is and I received earlier today a message saying I was banned from communications until tomorrow night. This is preventing me from playing in the monthly NHL 17 EASHL playoffs,
which is a pretty big deal to me and my friends.

I don't use my mic unless in a party with friends and I don't send messages. If you look at my message history I sent one a couple days ago to a guy who was bullying my friend calling him a 'puss' because that's what his EASHL teammate messaged my teammate
(MrMerts40404 if you want to check his message history).

If that's what I was banned for, it's pretty ridiculous that trolls can get your account in trouble so easily. If it's not what I was banned for, I sure would love an explanation, because like I said, I don't communicate with other xbox live users.

And the page where I'm supposed to be able to open a 'Case Review' is broken, there's no way to apply for a case review. This is extremely disappointing and not what I have come to know about xbox live service in general. I will be switching to Playstation
the second I get a chance if this isn't acknowledged at all. And I know if you continue to allow this 'Enforcement' policy to accommodate these trolls, many others will as well.

Being banned twice

Is one a communications ban and one an account ban? Or are they both communications bans?

 

I got a communication ban, while I was already banned from communications.

I apparently have received a communication ban on my account, while I was currently doing time for another communication ban. How could I have received another communication ban while I was currently communication banned?

 

Sorry to hear it. The PET do an investigation before applying an enforcement action on an account. The enforcement website that you went to is working fine though. It's just that you cannot apply for a case review for actions on an account that are only
24 hours long. This is because it can take up to 48 hours for the PET to get back to you.

A few questions if you have time and answers/guesses:

Would I get banned for a day for messaging someone 'puss'? That's really all I can think of because I don't talk to people online ever.

Would they not look into what I was replying to? I'm assuming this kid reported me, I would have to imagine they would look at the whole message chain. Though the nastier messages I guess were sent to my friend from his friend.

What is the PET? I saw the Enforcement system is in Beta and the community can sign up to be a part of moderating it. Is it possible this kid and his friends all signed up and agreed to ban me?

Does this put me on probation or a watch list of some sort? If so I would definitely still like to appeal after the fact.

That could be why you received the action. Some people think it's a great game to bait others into replying then report them. It's best to not fall for the bait and report the message if it needs to be done.

The PET are the Policy Enforcement Team. They are responsible for handling all enforcement actions on Xbox Live. You can get more info about them at enforcement.xbox.com

The Enforcement Beta that you saw is not part of the PET and was a program for the Ambassador program. It was never official and did not allow anyone to report other users via it.

It does not put you on a watch list. However, each successive action against your account will be for a longer duration until, eventually, an account would be banned from Live.

That could be the reason you've been suspended, but no one here could tell you 100%. You may want to read through the Code of Conduct to see all possible reasons -

The enforcement team could have looked into anything you've done on Live. It may not have necessarily been for a message.

PET stands for Policy Enforcement Team, they are the ones who investigate any complaints filed and take action if needed. The system you see in beta is Enforcement United which is separate from the enforcement team and has no affect on suspensions/bans.
It's also on hold at the moment. Even when it is in place, Enforcement United only allowed people to look at gamertags and help determine whether or not they violated the code of conduct. The PET had the final say so on any enforcement actions. So it would
not have been possible for any other gamers to ban you.

There's not exactly a watch list, but if you do receive any further enforcement actions, the amount of time you're suspended will increase.

I guess I'll just never send a message anymore. I called someone a moron in Rocket League text chat last week because he was spamming the message thing about how bad I was, maybe they can look at that too.

never respond to negativity just report them keep the community safe

 

literally just been banned on rainbow size siege for someone killing me for no reason so I send one message and I get banned but yet trollers can get away with not letting somebody play a game they paid good money for?by all means he broke the code of conduct

The enforcement team does not monitor these forums. It sounds like that you received a 24 hour ban which is not eligible for a case review. By the time they re-investigate the issue the ban would have been over by then. I would suggest to never respond
to anyone bulling you or your friends. your best option is to block them and report them for their actions.
