    So today i was suspended from from xbox live communications for swearing at someone who had teamkilled the entire team, destroyed our equipment and then sent me messages like 'get good'. I was angry so i sent back a message and the dude reported it to be
    an ****. So i got banned and nothing has happened to him. I think it is utter crap how i can get banned after someone pisses everyone off and breaks the terms of service and nothing happens to them but when i swear i get banned. Like wth, trash talking is
    part of gaming and i think its crap how the real bad people can get away because they have all their friends report someone they dont like and get away with it. This has happened to thousands of people and the microsoft enforcement team needs to look at the
    real world and what reall happens.

    Account ban

    i had a communication ban until the 23rd and even after my ban went away i still cant talk and neither can my other accounts

    Is one a communications ban and one an account ban? Or are they both communications bans?

    It doesn't matter who starts the situation, if you respond back in a way that violates the code of conduct, you are equally at fault. In situations like that, it's best to file a complaint on the other person and block communications with them instead of

    A com ban is a communication ban. It's a type of account suspension where you're still able to use Live, but you cannot communicate in any way with any other players.

    The bans for communications violations are both punishment and there to keep the gaming community safe.

    By receiving your comms ban you have automatically been punished for your actions, At the same time this keeps the community safe as you will be unable to chat with or socialise with other players on xbox live during the ban.

    I have been banned from multiplayer for 2 weeks when I did not commit a bannable offence my friend did on my account

    24 Hours communication bans are unappealable...all other bans are able to be appealed (well, except mostly with perma bans) as far as I am aware
