so I received a communications ban for a while.. and I'm not going to argue that anymore, it is what it is right? What I am extremely unhappy about is being banned from playing the games I paid my money to you Microsoft to play. I really don't care about
not being able to communicate.(I know "retaliation" is against the rules, but should be taken into consideration) but if you're going to hold games I paid for hostage.. that isn't right. Give me a permanent comm ban for all I care.. but using your "platform"
as a privilege and almighty power, taking people's games they spent money on is not right at all. I think I can say many people missed the pre-enforcement team xbox.. They say, "We don't want to be the arbiters of speech" but that's the pot calling the kettle
black . I honestly get beik g strict on the threats, and racism, nudity, offensive gamertags.. but getting banned for retaliating to someone's abuse is kind of ridiculous. If you're going to ban everyone for using offensive language(that's not racist, or threatening)
why have the messaging feature? Or!.. why not just filter every "offensive" word out of the text option?.. you're a computer/software company!.. should be easy peasy. Before you comment with the same asinine "just follow the rules" reply.. please just don't.

    :)

This is exactly how it works. They don't just do an overall ban unless you did something that deserves it. A communication ban is just that, no messages, in game chat, party chat, and the such. They also do this in increments of time (as was asking about above) and the first ban is 24 hours, second is 48, third is a week, fourth is 2 weeks, fifth is a month ect. Just had someone get off a 2 month communication ban. They also tell you when your ban is up in the message you receive both in email and message on xbox. This message states the reason for the ban and when the ban time is up. If it's a permanent ban it will state 12/31/9999. They don't just do a full ban on your account for communications ban, so if this individual can't access their account because of a ban, it wasn't because he called someone a homophobic slur unless he's been banned multiple times in the past for it.

    XBox Live Suspension

Seems to me that the best way to ban someone is simply take away their ability to communicate. No chat. No messages. No nothing. Should still be able to play online if you are paying for the service though. Now if they are cheating then, yeah. Ban them from the service completely.

Actually your purchases are still under your account as you haven't lost the rights to items you were billed for. You just can't use the xbox live service since you forfeited that privilege by breaking the rules of the service.

The enforcement team doesn't uses the forums and we can't help you with suspension issues and since you are not claiming any contest to your behavior toward the Code of Conduct I will have to refer this particular statement from the enforcement site:

"When a permanent account suspension is issued, XBLPET does not actively revoke an account's purchases or licenses or otherwise render existing content unplayable. Any content that has been downloaded and can be accessed without an internet connection
can continue to be used by the affected account offline. Content downloaded to the suspended account’s Home Xbox One console can also continue to be used by other accounts present on the console.

However, once an account has been permanently suspended, it will not be able to re-download previous content or purchase new content. This is because a permanent suspension completely blocks the account from accessing the Xbox Live service. Any digital licenses
that are already downloaded remain intact, but keep in mind that any game titles or specific features that require online services will not be useable"

To check your suspension or if eligible for a case review: https://enforcement.xbox.com
