Communication Banned when I did not start anything

Hello I was just communication banned from Xbox and although it only lasts for about a day I still find it ridiculous that I have to wait for this. This is because of the fact that the other person messaged me first while also being offensive for no other
reason than that I did better than him in a game. Although I did send him a message with with the b word, (though I didn't call him was and used it in a way of saying he was complaining) it was because of continuous messages of him being rude and saying that
I shouldn't play the game because I was better than him and it was ruining his experience. I'm wondering if there is anything that I can do to resolve this since this is the first time I have ever been communication banned. Also was unable to do a case review
so that is why I am here.

you don't get banned automatically somebody has to report you and then you'll get banned ASAP right when you get reported with the b word or anything else you use so when somebody else where is that you you report them first before they report you

Best practise is to mute/block/report people that you come across displaying toxic behaviour. Don't retaliate or you are stooping to their level. I understand it's frustrating as you were defending yourself but you also broke the community standards.

When i come across a toxic gamer I just mute them and then after the round I block them. Also even though your communication is banned temporarily, it won’t hurt your gaming reputation.

This happened to a friend once. The one player was a really annoying one and started using curse words in the Xbox Chat. My friend used one too but the other guy reported him. He got banned for couple days but i told him to contact Microsoft support.
They help him out he got unbanned after a day and the other guy got banned afterwards.

Support can't unban anyone as they are nothing to do with xbox live enforcement.Sounds like your friend had a 24 hour suspension & it ended.

Contacting support about enforcement actions will achieve nothing.

There is only one way to appeal any enforcement action which is by filing a case review if eligible,as already mentioned.

Unfortunately when you respond to the negativity it tends to implicate you. Next time just block and report them. It will save you a lot of headache in the future.
