Communication ban - Moving forward

Long story short: Rough day at work, came home to unwind with a friend on Rocket League, received in-game/verbal abuse from the other team during the match. In my frustration, I sent a message with a number of tasteless words in response and received a
temporary communication ban, my first in 11 years on Xbox.

Not complaining about the temporary suspension, as it's against the rules, and I understand that the onus of blame falls on me for taking for the bait. I had a few questions for people with experience with communication bans:

1. Is there any way/any time period in which suspensions are expunged from your profile? Any sort of consideration for past years of behavior?

2. I've gamed with someone in the past who has had six or more communication bans in the past year and a half, but hasn't yet received a permanent ban. Is there any rhyme or reason for the jump from temporary to permanent ban based on communication, or
is it just handled on a case-by-case basis?

I am coming off of a 2 week communication ban and the ban is now over but my xbox parties wont work. My chat bubble moves when I talk but i cannot hear my friends and their bubbles arent moving for me. Its not my mic either.

In addition to what information others have provided you, I'd recommend taking a look at the enforcement website here: https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US They have a lot
of good information and you can even review what others are saying about you (no actual name/Gamertags are revealed) but can help in understanding more of the process.

While there's no way of removing a record of a suspension, as long as you don't continue to do the same thing in future, it won't be an issue.

For reference you can review the code of conduct which explains that extremely severe or repeated behavior can result in permanent bans.
