Comms ban

Considering how Xbox lets people get away with having "420", and anything that can be taken as anti-Semitic in their Gamertags, they don't even follow their own "Code" of Conduct.

 

The only thing that the OP said that I agree with is the part about the kid being on GTA V. I saw a lot of that myself. That does need to be enforced, especially if the kid is going to be offended by what they might hear. That kid had no business being on
that game to begin with. I'm not saying that the OP was right in his actions but the situation could have been prevented in a couple different ways, one being enforcement of the age restrictions. I'm 35 and I had to show ID to buy GTA V. Kids have no business
being on that game, especially if they are going to complain about what they are subjected to. That kid knew that this was an 18+title and played anyway. Don't come to an adult world uninvited and complain about adults using adult language

 

As Daft pointed out above, it's not illegal for an under 18 to play a game rated that online. Indeed many games online sections are unrated and this will be pointed out when you first boot the game.

Xbox Live itself is E for Everyone and it is well worth remembering that actually means E for Everyone in the USA. Words other countries might not find offensive can be thought of as such in the USA. For example you can say 'crap' on the forum here without
a problem but the four letter variant starting with an S is considered much worse, whereas here in the UK they are considered to be the same level of harshness.

 

The point is that when you sign up & create an account you are signing up for xbox live which is rated "E" for everyone,or "U" for universal here in the U.K. There is no adult only section of xbox live where certain comms or gamertags are allowed & your
behaviour must reflect this.

 

My ban was started on JUNE 11 and said it was scheduled to end on JUNE 13 at 3:39 AM (UTC), it has now been a day later and I can send messages, use skype, and share, but party chat shows I'm talking for me, but no one can hear me and I can't hear them.
I've tried other accounts and it works, so it is an account thing not a mic/xbox problem.

 

I think Daft badger will know. Badger, "is live still have trouble restoring communication after a communication ban?".

As to the rest of adults. Sorry the game maybe rated R to buy or play but the online is rated "G" so think I love lucy or Gillian's Island language. I think I was 50 when I bought GTA 5, and did not have to show ID. Maybe cause I don't live in a place with
strange rules on video games.

 

Shouldn't have trouble once the suspension has ended.

That person said their suspension ended on the 13th June but the post was made on the 12th so that's probably why they were having trouble.
