coming from ps4

arrrgh in all fairness Im finding lost of people saying they are not happy with their new ps4 either for lots of not working stuff on their end too- its all so confusing

 

There is nothing on both consoles that say to me "i need to play that" just yet. That is why in thirty odd years,i haven't bought either next gen console.

Proving that many reviewers are idiots and you're better off listening to people who've played it.

The game is stunning and a treat to play.

Watching a Youtube video just doesn't do the game any justice at all.

Speeding through the game on Recruit to spit a review out does it even less justice.

When you play "Ryse" you get what you expect from a "Next Gen" game visually and gameplay wise.

I respect people who know what they like but nowadays too many people just don't seem to have the patience to get to grips with games nowadays.

There have been shorter games made but anyone who's gotten to grips with the combat and realises how to expand their move set (and it takes more than a single playthrough for that) and really enjoys chopping people up as a Roman Soldier is simply going to
have a field day playing again and again and again.

Every time you go back you're reminded what a stunning game this is.

Where Ryse is concerned there isn't really any expansion of the move set... sure you unlock new animations for executions, etc, but it still just fast attacks, block breakers, knock backs, blocks/counters and spear chucking.

It's a very enjoyable experience, but past unlocking all the finishing animations, etc and completion on the hardest difficulty there's not a lot to go back to with the single player.

It's also a good looking game, possibly the best looking on X1, but (for me) there has been better on this gen of consoles.

 

Ive went the other way. Bought a ps3, ps4 and vita over the last few months

But I have kept my 360 to talk to my mates on there otherwise id have just binned it after it broke yet again

 

I see Ryse as a tech demo as much as anything, looks great, wonderful idea, but lacking in depth.

I'd compare it to AC1, which was a great game for a while, but was quite repetitive. But it's sequel was brilliant.

 

RYSE was ok , fighting in it reminded of batman games on the 360 , block ... combo ... etc ... visually tho it was impressive ...

Interesting post and completely agreed, I hear that RYSE - Son of Rome™ is the game of the generation and is totally not a shallow, one-button snorefest.

 

Ryse is still one of my favourite next gen titles so far.

I'm still baffled by what some reviewers said, "it's repetitive" well year it's a fighting game. Driving games, you drive, FPS, you shoot ... ... ...

Then some even marked it down for the level of violence/gore? what were they expecting? lol

I just hope we get a Ryse 2 announcement soon
