Comcast freezing up and finally getting a black screen on xbox one live tv.

The live tv feature worked pretty good for about a week when it finally started to freeze up and basically stop working completely. I called Comcast out and the tech told me this is a common problem and that the two devices are not compatible and that I
had to bypass the xbox for my service to work. This was one of the major selling points for me when i purchased the system, and it seems odd to me that it won't work with Comcast a major cable provider. Did I just get a lazy tech that didn't really want to
help me or is there an easy fix to my problem. We have a Motorola DCX3400-M dvd cable box.

    :)

  2. Xfinity Black Screen on Turn On

Here is the information about my setup.

    TV Provider : Xfinity/Comcast

    STB: XG1-A

    AVR : Denon AVR-1910

TV : Samsung 46" LED (Don't know model number)

Layout : STB->Xbox One->AVR->TV (all connections via HDMI)

Ever since the system came out, I have been using DirecTV's HR24 STB's with absolutely zero issues. I just moved and am required to get Comcast/Xfinity. With this new Xfinity box I keep getting black screens when I boot up the system. I use my harmony
remote to turn on box Xbox One, my AVR, my TV, and my STB (which never actually shuts off because Xfinity won't let me shut it off with a remote). After turning on the system, about 50% of the time the TV app will show about 2-3 seconds of video and then
the screen will go black and the only way to get it back is to pull the HDMI cable from the cable box or reset it's power. Any ideas?

Selecting channels in OneGuide opens TV Listings [Comcast]

    TV Provider: Xfinity/Comcast

Motorola HDDTA-100 box plugged into a Samsung 65" TV via HDMI. [TV Model UN65F7100AF]

    HDMI from Xbox to TV

I am using the Xbox One Media remote to control the TV. Everything works as it should. I can change channels. Volume up/down works. However . . .

When I select a channel in OneGuide and press the OK button on the Xbox Remote, it will change the channel, but pops up Comcast TV Listings screen. So I'm basically changing the channel with the Xbox and then having to pick up the stupid Comcast remote to
close the dang TV Listings. This happens if I use voice command as well. Changing the channel one channel at a time with the Xbox remote works as it should - not TV Listing screen popping up. I hate Comcast with every fiber of my being so I gather this is
a Comcast issue. Anyone experience this and/or know how to fix? I just want it to go the channel like normal, not open the TV Listing!

    Grrrrr, I hate Comcast!

The only thing I can think of, is when I change the channel one at a time and it works as it should, a brief Comcast message appears on screen saying "Press OK to view Guide." It seems as if the OK button is being transmitted after the channel number gets
    sent. Any ideas?

Comcast freezing up and finally getting a black screen on xbox one live tv.

Well here is what I would do, if you getting bad quality or a black screen when you try to watch tv try the following:

    1. Hold the power button on the console for ten seconds - this will completely power down your Xbox one and clears off the corrupted content on your console.

If this doesn't work I highly recommend take a look at this link for further troubleshooting:

If this doesn't work take a look at this link:

The link above should tell you information that Microsoft has found out about the product that may help you.

I'd try those steps that fufufuwie as she provided.

Can confirm that Comcast has Firmware issues. I personally have a family member who is a Comcast installer and he told me that there are some firmware problems. But as the last poster mentioned, try those links, they could solve the issue.

Keep us updated. Comcast freezing up and finally getting a black screen on xbox one live tv. :)

Live TV and Comcast set top boxes

I've tried models from Motorola, Scientific Atlanta and Cisco. All end up with the same syptoms. Freezing screen that eventually goes black. Comcast will no longer replace my set top box simply because it doesn't interface with an Xbox one. If you could
tell me how to get mine to work I would be very grateful because your support team cannot.

    Black Screen on Live TV

yeah I occasionally had issues before the latest update, but now after the most recent update, i have so many problems with black screen and live tv. changing channels, sometimes it freezes the live tv signal for several seconds. Going from a game to trying
to watch live tv, it almost always results in a black screen - but can still hear the sound. only way to resolve it is to reboot the xbox one. I am using it with a tivo setup box. microsoft should reward us for beta testing their hardware.
