Combo Vehicles - How?

I just made it through the whole game, now restarting, trying to collect and build everything. I'm confused about combining vehicle, however. For instance, the Turret Rig requires a steamroller and sedan. I put the two together, but can't combine them.
I noticed that on the blueprint, each vehicle has a lock icon on it. What does that mean?

Master Mechanic Achievement not Unlocking!

I've managed to unlock everything except for the Master Mechanic Achievement (Create all 10 Combo Vehicles). Which I have done so many times that my total combo vehicles made is over 500. I have all the vehicles and blueprints and even the achievement
for creating 5, but for some reason I can't unlock this one.

Has anybody else had this problem, or know a way of sorting it out.

I've tried making all 10 combo vehicles in story mode on every chapter, overtime mode, nightmare mode, co-op, offline, after hard restarting, after latest Patch (DLC), during Broken Eagle DLC, in garages and outside garages and nothing has worked.

Any ideas?

If you open up the menu and check out your perks, to unlock, the top small square icons will unlock certain vehicles from being locked for combining.

You should be able to combine afterwards. I was in the same boat, until I unlocked the vehicle perks.

Ah, thanks! Jeez, I went through the entire game now knowing that........I just kept spending points on my skills. Should be more fun this time!

I am under the impression that you can get all the vehicle combos buy finding the blueprints, thus not having to spend a point on the perk. Because I have at least one slot with no lock symbols on the vehicles. Which leads me to believe I have acquired all
the blueprints so I don't need to spend that perk. I could be wrong. I just started the game last week.

The vehicle perks are only there so that you can build any vehicles with any other vehicles without being limited to two unique vehicles. You don't need the perks to unlock the achievements, it's just helpful. Once you reach level 50, you keep earning points,
so you'll be able to unlock everything in the game.

WOW! I love how the combo vehicles have secondary weapons and how you are able to have survivors defend certain positions and follow you. This game keeps outdoing itself every media release.
