Combined payment with Credit Card but not with PayPal ?

Hi,

I had insufficient funds to purchase a game. If I tried with my credits, it tells me to add a CC for a combined payment but not to use my PayPal account.

If I chose PayPal to buy the game it doesn't offer me to use my credits as well (like it is on Xbos 360).

Is there a way to make a combined payment with PayPal ? If not why ? it seems to be no problem on the 360.

If it's not possible, it would be nice if that option was added !

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

 

My Problem with credit cards and prepaid cards

So I have a problem. My credit card is done paying so I went to remove it. But when I bought a year pre paid card for Xbox live it Combined with the credit card. Now It says I can't go onto Xbox live because my payment option is run out. But its only been
like a month since I bought the card. And now the card and the credit card combined so I can't remove the credit card with out first getting rid of my Xbox live prepaid card. How can I solve this?

 

When purchasing items on the Xbox One choose the Paypal option to pay for the item. You should then be prompted as to whether or not you would like to use any credit you currently have to cover the difference

 

I purchased the game with PayPal but wasn't asked, like I know it from the 360 !

Combined payment was only offered when I chose paying with credits, but I was only asked for CC then ....

 

If it's so like onyx62is said it seems to be a technical issue !

Is anyone taking care about it ?

Some response would be nice !

I encountered the same problem. Couldn't find a solution nor anything helpfull on the support pages or this forum. Luckily I still have a 360 so I bought something on my old trusty GOW to get rid of the remaining credit from a gift card. Now Paypal payments
are available again on XBONE. This solution sucks but works untill someone at MS finds a way to provide combined payments on XB1 again. It worked 1,5 years ago, when I puchased a game DLC pack with remaining XBL reward credit and Paypal on XBONE.

It more seems to be a general issue and I thought You could forward it to the appropriate team to solve it (I don't think that the german phone support could do this ! ; ) )

no, it was Mystery Castle for Xbox One.
