combine offline account with online

I started to play xbox with my boyfriend, so I made an offline account. I wanted to make it online to save my progress but then I realised that with my existing outlook e-mail account I have already an xbox-live account. I'd like to combine these to accounts. How
can I do it?

you can only promote an offline account to an online account via the console, you can not combine an offline account with an existing xbox live account (which you created via the computer). So the only way to use the game data from his offline account is
to promote that account via the console.

Not sure if you tried it yet, but have you tried to first create a microsoft account for your son via the link:
signup.live.com/signup.aspx and make sure it has a parental account etc setup, after that use that microsoft account to promote his offline account to an online account via the steps

Combining accounts

Hi there,

there is no way to combine/merge two accounts into one. The only thing you can do is to promote that offline account to an online account, which will allow you to keep that gamerscore and save games etc.

But you will need to use a different email address for it, since there can only be one xbox live account connected to an email address (Microsoft Account).

Which account are you using now? The one with the few thousand of gamerscore or the other one?
