Coldheart weapon for Destiny 2

My son (age 9) is currently playing Destiny 2 and is at level 20. He has a redemption code for the Coldheart weapon, but when he inputs this it tells him he isn't old enough. Is there a way for a parent to allow this without changing his age restriction
to the appropriate age for Destiny 2 globally?

Top tip: Brandiesel, if you've been playing ME Andromeda, then I think you've answered your own question! If you want "exploration and discovery", then keep on playing Andromeda. I'm sure Destiny 2 will offer up a chunk of explorable terrain, but you're
more or less hogtied to the critical path. Word is that the campaign can be dusted in 20 hours... funny that, because I paid a chunk of change for the 'Deluxe' edition, but my exotic weapon (Coldheart) and my 'Legendary' emote and sword aren't accessible until
I've reached Lev. 20! By that time, I will have completed the campaign (or not) and my interest in playing farther will have diminished.

Destiny 2 *looks* to be a step up from the original, but since we've already established that your base identity is indistinguishable from the first, and that the enemies you face are simply more of the same - juxtapose the likes of Crota against Ghaul (note:
they've swapped out a whole letter for GHOUL - how progressive!) - you might wanna check your enthusiasm at the door. On the other hand, if you want some classic Bungie beatdowns, then ditch Destiny 2 and double down on Halo (The MC Collection et al). Ain't
nothing to see here that ain't been seen before (4K notwithstanding).

its a shame the levelling system is a load of tosh.. ive got 2 weapons that are gear score 182, yet my 163 weapons give me far better stats in terms of dps, health etc..

At least in destiny you knew what you were aiming for

 

Unfortunately not, since the game has age restriction check built into it. (it will check his DOB).

And you can only redeem those items on the account that will use them unfortunately.

I am sorry the code cannot be redeemed on the account but the code was for people to access the weapon early.

The Coldheart is available in the exotic loot pool for everyone to get without the code.

 

The code is not needed to get the weapon in game.

It can drop as a loot reward in various game modes.

Too bad it is rng based.

The code is just for getting the weapon instand without having to wait for a random drop
