Cold war buy full version issue

I currently have the Xbox One S and the standard edition of Cold War installed. In a few weeks I’m going to get the Xbox Series S and I was wondering if I have to buy the Next gen version for Cold War at it’s full price.

Maybe you have the Xbox One version of COD Cold War and you see that message because the Xbox One version cannot be upgraded to Xbox Series X. You can find more informations about COD Cold War editions here:

I preordered cold war but when i go to play it today it says i have to buy it even though it shows i have it bought. Whats the issue?

I went to delete it so i could download it back bc i was having the same issue and im so upset rn if i dont get cold war OR a FULL refund i will follow thru with lawful actions ive been waiting all year to play this game

From what I can tell, to access the Series X version of the game, you need the Cross-Gen bundle...once you buy that, you should then be able to download and install the Series X version. Without the cross-gen bundle it will, presumably, just install the XB1 version
