    For over a year now, I have been storing my Xbox One and other games consoles (Mega Drive, N64, PS2 and 3 and the like) in an Ikea cabinet in a log cabin we installed.

    It's a great little set up, basically a man cave, but it becomes a right sweat box in the summer and gets very cold in the winter.

    Last winter, I noticed my Xbox One wouldn't start up properly; it kept resetting over and over in an endless cylce. I looked into it and found the solution was to use our electric heaters to warm up the cabin for about half an hour or more, then it works
    fine.

    This year, though, I'm noticing a bit of condensation/moisture on my consoles and the unit and I'm getting increasingly paranoid that this, and the cold, are going to be a problem for my machines. The only one that has played up is the Xbox One and it dries
    up pretty fast once the heaters are on but is this going to be a problem?

    You will be fine, as you only get condensation forming when warm moisture laden air comes into contact with a cooler/cold surface. Air conditioning units actually remove moisture from the air they cool, hence the water drain pipe, so using an Xbox in an air conditioned room should in theory assist with cooling of the console.

    You are obviously trolling, but just in case someone else comes around and really thinks that this would be valid advice:

    The Xbox console is NOT waterproof!

    Do NOT put it near or into water!

    You not only risk destroying your console, but putting any electrical device into a body of water has the risk of causing an electrical shock that can LEAD TO DEATH!!!

    Also putting it in the freezer is a bad idea, since moisture in the cold air could condense inside the cold console and cause water damage as well!

    Just keep the console in a well ventilated area within "normal" room temperature, and the console will be fine.

    You need to be careful. If the console gets too cold it could develop condensation when turned back in.

    how the hell does freezing a hdd do anything? when you freeze something, any moisture already on the hdd (from oxygen condensation, for example) will expand and wreck the hdd. i'd seriously avoid doing something like that as it will void whatever warranty
    you have left on it
