    Codec update?


    Keep getting update codec message when playing some videos downloaded from internet. So popup asks if i want to install, then when i agree and click popup it sends me to marketplace and suggests nothing further. Where can i get most up to date codecs. I
    believe i downloaded the four or five only one in marketplace where you download everything else........side note its funny how i can play games that are astonishingly realist with dolby sound 3d headphones yet, icannot seem to b able to play videos and files

    they use different codecs for the voice and they wont update the 360 codec as it would probably break it.

    Voice chat problems.

    It's just crappy sound codec for the games. It's the same for me too. A while back the codec for chat got updated and some games still use the old chat codec thingy, and thus it sounds like @@@. MW3 is one of these games.

    Was it after one of the updates? I have seen this before. The 360 does not support all codecs, some of the DIVX codecs do not work. If you have the software, you can convert the video to something more useful.

    Try downloading the "PS3 media server" program (on your computer) This seems similar to a problem I was having a few years back and the program fixed the codec problem. Do not be fooled by the name, it works for the xbox 360 too. From memory there is a little
    stuffing around with the program to run it with the 360 but its been that long since I used it I could not give you that info.....
