Code redeemed but not working

Hi everyone,

Last week I bought 2 gift card codes for my nephew in US. I live in NL and I used the NL store with Microsoft since I could not use my european credit card to pay on the US store.

I was not aware about the fact that codes bought in EU cannot be used in US.

I passed the codes to my nephew which was able to redeem the code by changing his country to NL (from US) . Then he switched back to US but he is not able to use the code - purchase content.

I see 2 options:

- my nephew will change his country to NL in order to be able to buy content but not sure what other repercussions this might have on his existing purchases

- ask support to remove the codes (unused) from his account and refund me - if possible .

Anyone who has experience in this issue please share your thoughts.
