Code not redeeming on Xbox.com or Xbox One...

Recently I entered a contest/promotion from GameStop at http://mygearsmomentsweepstakes.com and received a few codes for doing so. When I go to the new redeem page on Xbox.com, I get this
message:

Check the instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page.

I get a similar message when trying to use the Xbox One. I cut and pasted the code on the website, so I know it's correct. I've tried the code for Avatar gear that came with this (Gears of War "Horde Booster") and that takes me to the old "Redeem" page
and auto pops up the redemption confirmation. I cancelled that confirmation, then clicked the redeem button on the old page... it just took me to the new page and gave me the same error. Is this an issue with the code, with the site, or is it because Gears
of War 4 isn't out yet?

How to Redeem a Code on Xbox One - QR Code or 25 Character Code

Hey guys! Okay, so you need to figure out how to redeem codes on the Xbox One? Well, there are a few ways of doing this.

1.

• Login to Xbox.com (top right hand side)
• In the top bar, mouse over Xbox Live Gold
• You'll see 'Redeem Code' in the drop down list
• Click 'Redeem' and enter your 25 digit code!

If your code is a game or DLC, it will automatically start downloading once you login to your Xbox, unless you have your Xbox in standby, which will allow it to download right away!

• From the main page of the Xbox One dashboard, scroll to the right to the 'Games' section and select that section -or- If your Kinect is connected, say "Xbox, Use a Code"
• If you have a QR code (that square looking code thing), you can hold it up to your Kinect to redeem it.
• If you have a 25 digit code, in the lower left of the screen, you have the option to "enter the 25-character code." Click that and enter your code. Confirm your code and you're all set!

Your item will automatically download. Enjoy!

What is the error code? and have you tried redeeming the code on xbox.com instead of you xbox or vice versa?

What happens in the Xbox App? Probably the same thing, just want to check.

I would think the most likely culprits are:

- Some combination of the game not being out yet and/or the codes not being activated properly; or

- A region issue. Can you double-check that the URL you're on is en-US? Alternatively, is there any chance the codes are for a non-US region?

There's also a 'redeem codes' button on the site that doesn't seem to fully be working, it alternately redirects me to the same page or opens a tab and loads nothing. I don't know if that's meant to redirect to the Xbox code-redemption page or they expect
you to redeem a code with them first to then get an Xbox 5x5 code.

 

I just tried it on the Xbox app on my phone and got the same message about checking the instructions. It's possible, seeing how I have no clue what the "Horde boost" actually is, that it's something for the game.

 

Horde Booster sounds like a multiplayer consumable. I would still expect it to be redeemed as DLC and visible in My Games & Apps under the game, but I don't know the specifics.

What kind of nonsense is this? Pre-order the game and not get the rank of multi-player beta. its never been done in the history of the gaming community, its insulting

 

Yeah, it's been open in Australia for 1hr but I keep getting that error. What a pain!! I preordered at EB Games and got code by email today. All I can think is either:

1) They got codes for wrong region; or

2) They got codes that aren't early access; or

3) Problem with the beta release in Australia

I see plenty of other people have it working.

Same here, tried to enter it online and multiple times on the Xbone with no luck

 

Tried to redeem the beta code on console and the app, for Sweden, UK, and USA. Same message every time.

 

tried it on app and console and I got the same message i preordered it for the early access and I can't even get it?
