    Code Not Active.


    Hello, I recently was given a 3 month Xbox live membership as a gift - but as I entered the code I was told that the "code was not yet active", and should "contact the merchant to activate the code".

    The card also had another code for a Halo 'Feather Skull', in which didn't interest me - however after being told the card was not active I tried the code for the skull and it worked.

    I was wondering why one code worked but the other didn't - and if there was a fix without asking the person to find the receipt (if they still have it).

    When the merchant scans the card to sell it. That activates the card for use. Sometimes these 3rd party retailers have codes that malfunction or don't scan the bar code the right way. The only way to get either that card activated or another card would be
    to go back to the store and exchange it. Sorry for the inconvenience if you need any guidance, we are here for support.
