    Code for backwards compatible 360 game does not download to 360 console.


    I received a game code for Tom Clany's rainbow six Vegas and Vegas 2 from the microsoft store. It is a backwards compatible 360 game that is supposed to work on the One as well. I redeemed the code on my account on my laptop, but it will not show up for
    downloading to my 360 console.

    Can't buy backwards compatible games on marketplace?

    It's not gears 3, (for as far as i know gears 3 is not backwards compatible)

    I can't download any backwards compatible game.

    Is there another way then to log in on a xbox 360 console? like if i buy a physical disc of a backwards compatible game, would it work then? and would i be able to download 360 games after that.

    Hey there, RyanBerend! Since you received your codes from the MS Store, I'm assuming they are physical? We do not have access to your codes, so they were not sent through the Xbox Live Messaging Service.

    That being the case, in order to look into this further for you, we would need the codes to check into what they are showing on our end. These should be showing up on your Xbox 360, and we'd like to get you the help that you're looking for. Code for backwards compatible 360 game does not download to 360 console. :)

    You can send these codes to me via private message. Click on the envelope at the bottom of my post to do that. Once I have them, I will post back and let you know what I've found. Thanks!

    Xbox 360 games can only be downloaded on either a 360 or, if they are backwards compatible, on an Xbox One.

    Xbox 360 game codes do not work on PC.

    You can of course redeem codes for consoles using a PC web browser (or a browser on any device for that matter), but the game will only be downloadable on a compatible Xbox console.

    The Xbox 360 can only play Backward Compatible games if it has an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed, and the game is listed on here If your Xbox 360 needs an update, then just connect the console to Xbox live, and the console will automatically check for the update and ask you to download it. If it does not, then your console probably already has it, and the game you want to play is not backward compatible.

    Backwards Compatibility only works for full titles that are available on the backwards compatibility list. Game Demos are not included in the backwards compatibility feature. If you want to try a specific Xbox 360 game out before purchasing and downloading,
    you will need to download the demo on an actual Xbox 360 console.

    you can Not move any 360 games from a xbox 360 to a Xbox One S.

    The only option that works if that the 360 games are backwards compatible and you own the 360 games digitally or on disc, that will allow you to Download the 360 games on your Xbox One console.
