Code bought from Game UK site saying Wrong Region

I've just purchased an Xbox Live 3 month subscription for my son from the GAME website and after inputting the code its says that it is for the wrong region and won't work.

GAME have told me to go to Microsoft Support to see what's happened (And not sort this out for me, which is [Mod Removed- Profanity] of them). All I can find is a phone number to ring and nobody to email.
I take it that this has happened before? and how did they go about sorting it out. Will ringing the number cost me a bomb? I'm quite new to this as I'm not a gamer. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, I suggest you take a look at your consoles settings to make sure the region is correct. Following the steps in this

He used the wrong code on the wrong regional account

He has it the difference is he purchased the card from an region that doesnt match his account so if he has a uk account but bought neitherlands points it wont work

His errpr is he bought the wrong regional points

Its in his account his account his to match his currench

People buy different points due to cheaper taxes or they use uk region but dont have access to it so they buy locAl points which wont woek

Ms gift cards are region locked

A lot of the overseas online stores will tell you if the game is region coded or not. If it is region free it will definitely work, and all UK Xbox games will work here in Oz. You can check on sites like:

There site will tell you what region the game is for and whether it is locked. These UK sites are also good:

www.ozgameshop.com

It is far safer to get UK games than those from the USA.
