Code: 0x800488FC

Hello,

Some minutes ago, I turned off my Xbox, when I turn it on and tried to sign in with my profile, a message appeared on screen saying that an error had occurred and the following code was at the end of the message "0x800488FC". I've restarted
my Xbox but there hasn't been any change. I'd like to have professional's opinion,

I got the same thing as well, I checked Microsoft's xbox live status a few minutes ago and it said that there are issues on Xbox live's side right now not allowing some consoles to sign onto any account. They are working right now to fix the issue.

 

There is an issue on the Xbox server side preventing individuals such as yourself from accessing their profiles on the Xbox console itself. They became aware of the issue about an hour ago and are trying to find a fix for it currently. The good news is
that there is nothing wrong with your account!

2 things i have noticed.

1. I can sign in without any internet connection (mobile hotspot). I am able to log in successfully this way but without any access to the majority of my xbox like Youtube, YoutubeTV, etc.

2. I am unable to sign in to my profile when i connect successfully to the internet (mobile hotspot).

Hope we have a quick resolutiom to this.

 

Sucks for services to be down and not able to log in. I totally understand that technical difficulties can occur. I discovered the problem after coming home from work. I will tell you what sucks worse
though. I've now come to realize how useless my games are when I can't log in to LIVE. Went to settings, chose offline mode, and was then able to actually log into my account, BUT every game defaults a message saying you have to be online. I have a substantial
collection. I've been collecting systems, controllers, collector editions, and what not for some time now. Probably close to 400 physical titles and 100+ digital. It is completely wrong on so many levels to have invested so much into Microsoft products for
it to be completely USELESS. I'm sure if I spend some time I may find a handful of titles, like BC that will work, but the point is, they ALL should with the exception of titles that revolve around an online only component for multiplayer. Single player story
driven titles that can't be played at all is utter garbage. I hope somebody at Microsoft reads this. I'm not some fly by night guy who buys one or two titles a year. I've been a gold member for over a decade, have over a dozen consoles, and have supported
the XBOX since gen 1. This is just plain wrong.
