    CoD Install Stopping - Error 0x87E00005


    I tried updating CoD yesterday and ran into an issue with the update once it hit 100%.

    We uninstalled the game and are now trying to reinstall it and keep getting error

    0x87E00005

    I have done all troubleshooting with our router, internet connection and xbox. I have no issues like this on our other xbox one room over. I also work from home and have no internet issues.

    I'm not sure if it's because of CoD or what but any help would be great!

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    I tried to check the error code, however, there is no related article from Xbox support. I only found the error code "0x87e00065" which is an issue installing a disc game. To help and guide you with the necessary steps, I would like to clarify if this is a physical disc game?

    Error 0x87e00005 stopped installation.

    If this is a digital game, do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause issues so if you have an external hard drive, please unplug it and perform a powercycle on your console before installing the game again. Keep the hard drive unplugged.
