COD Ghosts re-download fails at 79% every time!!

I have been trying to re-download COD Ghosts but the download fails exactly at 79% completion and then starts from 0 again. I have tried clearing cache, removed the last system update and tried downloading on a USB, reset wireless, downloading using wired
connection all seem to yield same result.

However, all other downloads are doing fine, DIRT 3 finished fine. Did a network test on wired connection and there was no packet loss and download speed was upto 10mps as well.

Any suggestions.

I hope thats what the problem is. I dont want to send out for a new one. Mine fails at 79% every time.

 

Hey, hite! This is generally what happens when your console region or account region doesn't match the region you are physically located in. It doesn't happen with all games, but CoD games in general are normally region locked and this can happen when your
settings aren't how they are suggested to be.

What region are you located in? I can check to see if it's available there or not, and we can start from there.

 

I purchased the game and played it when i was in India and then i moved to Poland. I have changed the region settings in my profile to Poland and locale on my console as well.

I thought both EU and India region uses PAL versions so region locking should n't be an issue but i guess i had wrong understanding.

same problem here with CoD: Black Ops II. I purchased a key multilangual key and redeemed it in the german marketplace, but it only downloaded the german dubbing, altough my system language is english.

so I switched the locale AND the region to GB... now the download of BOII always keeps restarting at exactly 79 %.

Furst if all region locks dont cross during migration

@neko only german authorized content is allowed by the usk in germany that is a law any other version is banned due tonthe content of blackops 2 (violent content anf torture and nazi zombies)

No non usk approved versions are allowed that is why you can only get the germany content

Since you migrated the german content would be thenonly one you are allowed in germany duento the ban

There is verybfew games with multiple languages in the disk

Blackops and nazi zombies are edited specifically for usk like no nazi symbols and toned down violence

@hitesh Your issue isnt the cconsole

You moved from the origijal account region

The only waybto get thencontent again is to download while in india

Have you done an account migration yet? If you haven't, having an India account while being in Poland is likely what is causing your issue. Switching your account to the Poland region should resolve what you are running into.

nekolexus - Please make sure that your account region also matches what your physical region is, and then set your console to that same region.

For both of you,
changing the region of your account should resolve this issue. Let me know if you guys are still running into issues after that!

 

@neko it wouldnt matter if you changed to uk You are failing the region check fir the german content thats why its not completing

You would have to match uk account plus uk geolocation and uk content (repurchased as the region lock content doesnt transfer between regions)

 

My bad hitz fyi ghost is region locked however not for the same reasons i was refering to neko who asked avout bo 2 which is in germany a censored content

I migrated the account from INDIA to POLAND even before the issue started. Last night i even deleted Tomb Raider deliberately and re-downloaded again successfully just to see if it was the region issue.

May be now i think its only the COD games which are region locked. So far i haven't heard back from activision support when i asked them if infact COD ghosts is region locked.

 

@hit not all contrnt is region locked however tombraider is one of the confirmed ones.

Sometimes games will still go thru but not ggarenteed with mismatchrd regions

I wouldnt count on it all the time

 

Thanks so far for the replys, let me correct something: the USK and PEGI versions of CoD: Black Ops II are identical.

Yes, it's true that it won't work with games like CoD: World at War, Saints Row 2 & 3, etc., there is huge censorship, but the versions of PEGI-Black Ops II and USK-Black Ops II are identical. Luckily for us germans, the censorship regulations have widened
a bit, and almost no games are censored nowadays (with the exception of games that have nazi-symbolism in them).

So... my system language, locale AND region are english/United Kingdom. And Black Ops II ist definitly "worldwide" AND multilangual. I just redeemed the key in the german Marketplace (I thought it would download the english audio automaticly).

 

Guys, if you log into commerce.microsoft.com what's the region say there on the top left? If it says anything other than where you are located, then
you have not migrated your billing account. That is the account that needs to be moved. Please follow the instructions in the link I provided above for help with that.

Both of these games are available in both Germany and Poland. The issue you are running into is that your account region does not match where you are located, and that needs to be rectified by the link I provided above before you are able to download the
Call of Duty games for your region.

If it doesn't help you out, then you need to
contact us via phone or chat to have them double check what region your account is located in and help you with changing it if it needs to be done.

alright, when i login to the Microsoft billing portal at the bottom left i see English(United States) and i always thought it's only display language. However i have changed it now to Polish(which i am still learning)

In addition to that i made following changes as well,Removed my old credit card tied to India

added new card information related to Poland. I see 4 accounts under payments and billing IN - Personal Acocunt, PL - Personal Account and 1 US - personal and 1 US - Business. I selected PL account.

But when i re-login to the portal, the page is rest to English(United States) and account is changed to IN - Personal Account.

Is this normal or need to delete accounts?(could not find any way to delete that).

As far as chat support is concerned, for this issue they only asked me to check in forums or with activision as they were unable to resolve the issue.
