Cod blackops broken? Help please.

I am caught in a loop. My xbox series X loads up Cod, gets told to buy the game, then i click 'buy full version' and it says i already own it. Then check the xbox store directly and it also says I own it.

I have also gone into my saved folders to confirm all content is installed on the console.

The ONLY possible cause of this is that i originally installed the game on my external harddrive (that i used for Xbox One, not the new Seagate one for the series consoles) and i gave the harddrive to my little brother to copy cod onto the xbox one so he
could play it on another account, i have that xbox one set as my 'home' xbox so he can play cod and he forgot to switch to his account when he first played so I know the game works on my account on the last gen console, almost like the harddrive needs to be
plugged in to play?

For those wondering, i bought the game on my account because I like ownership of stuff if i want to play it, did the home xbox thing because i hate when my brother logs on at the same time as me and i get logged off mid game so the home xbox thing with him
using a different account is a lifesaver for us both playing cod without me getting kicked off.
