Co op gaming, wheres it gone?

Personally I tend to run lone wolf when I game but I know that co-op is huge. I did get a few missions in on the destiny beta with a team and it was awesome. I think the Fall releases like Destiny will have plenty of co-op for you OP

 

after reading the comments i have a few of my own

to start with the mentioned games. borderlands was a great game but gets boring after 2nd playthrough. no 2 was a let down. couldnt get into it. they where trying to capatilise on the unexpected result of the first.

gears of war. they where excellent till they just became about money in judgement. also people complain when you leave on wave 21 on horde when its 3am and you wanna go to bed.

halo became multiplayer focused when it hit the 360 with no 3. also they didnt keep the technology linear. spirits where introduced in no2 yet they put them in reach which was supposed to be before the first. no 4 was grasping at straws. just did it because
halo makes money.

destiny. well i couldnt factor this in because its not been launched and i have not seen any advertising about it yet i watch tv and use my 360 and they have the right to email me about it yet all ive seen is a case in a shop with a launch date.

The beta just ran last week and ended on Sunday. It was pretty heavily advertised on the X1 dashboard (not sure about the 360) and I know I got like 3 emails about it.

 

There are plenty of games with side modes but there are few games with quality coop campaign.

Borderlands, left for dead, dead island, halo, gears, resident evil, Kane and lynch, army of two....so we average one real coop game a year over the last gen (two if you want to include games with 'coop' side missions).

We need more co-op which I believe we are about to get in the upcoming months. People like to be social when they play video games. It isn't just for the hardcore gamers who want to play solo and do their own thing. Many of the popular pc games are heading
into the social direction. I appreciate an amazing in depth solo game, but those are few and far between as it is. If they are going to make a mind blowing single player game where a coop mode would take away from the campaign, leave out coop. But if it
is going to be a decent/average game give me coop. It adds a whole new layer to the game and adds replay ability. If you don't have friends if might not, but those who do have something to play while having a conversation into the night.

Absolutely untrue.
"Earth Defense Force: 2017" on the XBox 360 offers the most entertaining local Coop you'll find on the 360 and arguably any platform anywhere.
"Sonic: Super Star Racers Transformed" is absolutely brilliant for up to 4 of you sat on the couch.
You can take all the other players with you online (even if they don't have Gold or even XBox LIVE Profiles) or take them through the campaign with you.
When it's done wrong it's a poor experience.
When it's done right it will be the stuff you remember years later like playing local MP on "Goldeneye" on the Nintendo 64.

I totally agree Azrael!!!! You forgot all the RockBand and Guitar Hero Games...... Even better Cooperatve.

IMO, Most of the time a better experience is had with Online Co-Op. Golden Eye was fun because it was first, something new... Try playing Minecraft or COD split screen... It's just not as fun.... Heck, Back in the day people would have LAN parties...

Ya just don't see Split screen to much because it's better to have your own. I think we can all agree the OP is simply wrong. Now I have to play Earth Defence 8>)

 

For me optional co-op is where it's at. A nice single player and the choice to make it better by sharing that experience with a mate.

i dont recall seeing it on the 360 dashboard. however maybe i missed it because i dont read everything on there and thats my own fault if i missed it there. im not sure about email. guess ill recheck it. thanks for pointing it out.

i agree their has been some great co op titles but all now are slightly different but sames as their originals.

i mean borderlands was the las new co op game i remember. (a no 2 or 3 of a game dont count) over the last year i struggle to name a new co op game.

 

Yeah the Destiny Beta was on the largest panel on the Home of the 360 Dashboard all weekend. {XD
