    TL;DR Cloud version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite is launching instead of the installed version.

    I played the game for a day or two on cloud before deciding to install. If I launch the game from my recent games tab, or from within a Group, it will launch the cloud version. There is no cloud icon to indicate it's the cloud version, it should be the local game being launched. If I launch from my All Games area, it launches properly. Removing the game from a group and readding it worked for a day or two then randomly started launching the cloud version again.

    Console, Series X. The previous reply did not help. Worked for the first launch, second launch was cloud.

    Hello and thank you for your post today.

    Sometimes this is just a glitch in the same way you once owned a disc the disc broke so you installed just the new digital license instead of the full game as you already have all the game data installed.

    Works fine until overnight on instantly on mode it installs full game and when you launch the console can no longer tell the difference between the two copies and gives you an error message saying you don’t own this title or disc not working or insert disc. Even though you now own the digital version.

    To remove any confusion please uninstall the game and reinstall the game. The console will now only have the digital version available to it and will stop the game launching in cloud gaming.

    I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    - Select Reset console.

    - Choose Keep Games and Apps

    Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.
