If you own both the 360 and the Xbox one (X1) back up your 360 save files as the X1 save files, even though not the latest save files, will be the ones used when recovering your 360 save files lost via supports do this, lets try that solution to 5G connection
issues. Not blaming support, but rather the cloud.

Well over 100 hours of saves lost bc MS's "Cloud" looks not at dates and time stamps but rather the X1 saves and with the X1 being the newer system of the 2, regardless of date and time stamps, wipes out the 360 saves.

Game saves are uploaded to the cloud automatically when your connected to Xbox LIVE. You should have no issues getting the save back after factory resetting your console. Some frequently asked questions about the cloud can be found here:

    support.xbox.com/.../cloud-game-saves-faq

WARNING! As I'm writing this response Xbox LIVE is having some issues with Social & Gaming being limited (In-game matchmaking, cloud storage, finding friends, Game DVR, leaderboards, avatar editing, or pictures). Either hold off with factory resetting
until fully operational and the game save is for sure on the cloud or risk the cloud not having an up to date game save. Xbox LIVE status here: support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status

  3. Creation mode kills achievements even just loading it?

Here's something for you - I loaded up the warning screen, declined and started another world in Creative mode. This seems to have had the same impact of disabling achievements in my other worlds. This or Microsoft bungled syncing my saves onto their cloud.
    Royally annoyed.

So it's about BC 360 games played on X1, or?

I never activated the cloud thingy on 360 anyway, There are excellent ways to backup on usb.

And I tried Dirt 3 as BC on X1 but deleted within the hour - slight delays in response to controller - useless.

On X1 I also miss the ability to delete cloud saves, you can only delete local saves.

    Don't know why that is.

And you cannot backup locally either which was simple on 360.

MS clearly want to build dependency on cloud services, and OneDrive and stuff like that - making more money charging for that.

  5. It could be worded a little better but I think he's saying that no matter the age of the saves, the Cloud service will favour those of the Xbox One even if the 360 ones are newer.

I will be keeping my Xbox 360. For Xbox 360, all my game saves are on my console, with my favourite backed up to USB. I don't trust the Internet Infrastructure. When I launch games sometimes, it says

Syncing, 1%, 10% 99%.... unable to sync. Try again later.....

But then again, Microsoft should be backing up everything on XBL, especially with our accounts. Earlier when Xbox One had launched and the Preview Program thingy, The Preview Program deleted wiped everyones friends lists who were in the program. But it was
later fixed. When the servers play up, our gamer score goes to 0. But when the servers work, it returns to normal. Microsoft invests millions of dollars in servers. They open up two data centres in Australia. And these centres have back up power generators,
and fire suppression systems, and security.

21st century technology isn't always reliable.

A reason why they shift game saving to the cloud for Xbox 1, is to help minimize people who mod game save files. I think they should give us back the option to save/backup our game saves, to our consoles and/or cloud.

This is my ninth year of Xbox Gold. In all those years, I can recall only ONE instance where my gamerscore got fried. It was a blip on the radar, and it's been a long time between crashes that I've *ever* had to worry about server outages. When you say you're
having trouble installing a game, I highly suspect it's a bottleneck at your end (for example, your network service has been interrupted or is running slowly). I think 21st century technology is only as reliable as your internet plan.

That said, what happens when your Xbox 360 one day refuses to boot or shows up the dreaded red ring? (As has happened to me, and is the reason I'm replacing it out with a brand new PS4 Pro - not that I wanted to, but hey, 50% of my games are backwards compatible
so it's not like I'm losing everything.) Smileskybird, comes a time when you simply *have* to break free of the security blanket (ie, your favorite systems). It's the way of life Cloud saves warning. :)

I have 8 more just sitting around collecting dust, I simply replace the broken 360, dl my tag and insert my game saves thumbdrive. Problem solv'ed - as some would say.

Maybe I should change my gamertag to Swirlybird or something cause she has an affinity for quoting my FULL gamertag. You don't see me doing that as much, FULL gamer tags. If I did, she'd think it's so childish and finally abbreviate my name? Call me sky
or smiles. As we're not friends I wont tell you what my nickname or passport name is. And no I'm not sky does minecraft. I got Xbox late 2010 and I don't think he's been around that long. Not even subscribed to him. I know British girls tend to call me Bird,
and 2 years ago, Americans thought I was British (I do have some Irish in me), but they'd say that about any Australian and NZ peeps.

I have Vodafone NZ (Vodafone being one of the biggest ISP's in the world) with unlimited monthly data and 100mb/s download and 10mb/s upload speed. Vodafone is the best ISP in NZ. I play Minecraft and COD BO2 zombies on Xbox 360, and when Australians/NZ'rs
play with US/UK players, either one of us is lagging. This is due to the internet infrastructure, or servers. It's like once on Xbox 360 a 2GB Update took two and a half hours to complete! (I fell asleep as I usually come on in the afternoons). I can upload
via youtube.com a 30 minute 1080p video in 40 minutes, as suppose to 8 hours it would take me on ADSL Broadband or something like 60 hours on Dial Up, if the upload doesn't time out that is, which is a 100% likely it will. Yet when I download a 2GB file size
on my computer, it takes only approximately 60 SECONDS. Internet infrastructure/servers, not ISP issue. I use to own a PS4 Pro for a few months. And in NZ, PSN servers are slower than XBL servers. Either that, or Vodafone doesn't like Japanese servers. And
I live in a big city in NZ in a popular suburb. And since NZ is officially a commonwealth English country, much like Australia and the UK are commonwealth English countries.

Speaking of breaking free of security blanket, Microsoft tried that. They got nowhere with it. When Xbox One launched, they left out the ability to change the dash background and voice messages. They got too many complaints about leaving out what people
loved about Xbox 360 the features, onto Xbox One. Voice messaging 2 years ago, was the HIGHEST requested feature on the official feedback site. It may not be now, because Xbox One already has it back. 80 peeps on my Xbox 360 Friends List, don't have Xbox One
(most of them kids). And considering Xbox 360 still has a larger currently active play group compared to Xbox One, it goes to show you that Microsoft did an awesomeness and amazing job with Xbox 360, which has social media activities greater than any other
7th gen console, including picture messaging, voice messaging, party chat (PS3 DOESN'T have party chat, not to be confused with game chat). I've already broke free of my security blanket. Not to mention I've changed my gamer pic with a photo I took a few years
ago, having experimented with the new custom gamer pic and have not got banned. Though some may try to scrutinize it. Starting off as some shy
one forum post a year kid to wow a 2 week break from this forum was quite an accomplishment (I'd like to see other regulars on here, successfully try that). I have the Xbox 360 Slim version which came out when I joined Xbox. And the Slim and E versions
