Cloud data not syncing to new console

Hi all,

Got a new 1TB console as my day one console disc drive was dying ever so slowly.

Had an external drive so I managed to copy all my games over, however when I start up the game it always takes forever to sync the game cloud save data and most of the time it won't complete. I.E. it took the The Witcher 3 about 20 tries of it failing before
it synced to 100% .

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and/or if there is a fix?

^ That's not true, your files are saved locally too. If you are connected it's synced and if you uninstall a game your local save is removed until you redownload the game, at which point it will sync to servers.

Your file is on your system, and it auto syncs. Makes it seem like you are only using cloud, but really it will just update your cloud save and your local save by checking cloud.

 

I hate having to ask a n00b question, but...

What are you trying to accomplish? If you're trying to start a game over, just delete the local save data, then when you start a game it will start to sync the cloud data. Just press the button to cancel this sync and you should be able to start a game fresh. Then when you play the game next time, it may say something like your save data is out of sync. Would you like to use the cloud or local save. Select to use your new local save, then it will start syncing that one to the cloud from then on.

Alternatively, you can just create a new Xbox Live account and play the game on that.

 

Been having the same issue with my games, only difference is that my xbox is not brand new like yours

exact same issue with same game, wont sync on my second console. I am getting a 80004005 error.

 

You could try to clear local save games if you had very good updated version of your save in your cloud. When you clear your saves it forces the cloud to resync with the console.
