Cloud based gaming

Microsoft has apparently(emphasis on apparently) made a vreakthrough in regards to cloud based gaming. Ill let you guys read and give your input on it.

The funny thing is that the PS4 has cloud based gaming as well lol.

 

This would bring out the trolls because its about the cloud. Most people have no faith in it. Not saying I do, but some people dont believe it will ever work.

 

Stop spreading lies the cloud is a BIG PR move by MS the Cloud could never happen Just like 1080p 60 fps on the XB1.

 

Definitely sounds plausible from my understanding of how it will work.

 

@24 Not feeling the name change btw. It would sound better in English, however, it is hands down my favorite anime this season. Can't wait till Sunday for the next episode.

As for the cloud.... I like to stay open minded.

This article is about cloud streaming, not cloud compute. Although you'd think the principle (regarding latency) is the same, if not very similar... the ability to mask up to 250ms is really impressive, that covers the majority of connections. Just recently
got fibreoptic myself, now get 12-30ms

 

Live cloud compute has been added to a recent update of the Unreal engine. It's happening!

 

I think that cloud computing has great potential, not just for gaming but for computing in general.

However I still hold to the fact that I would not want my single player games held hostage to an internet connection. I loathe that I am forced these days to activate most of my PC games online, yet at least when that is done I can go offline for as long
as I please.

If cloud computing became essential to that single player experience I would be locked out of content that I paid for simply losing an internet connection.

 

Ha, your not the only one GG, somebody in particular has been reporting most of my post's and some have been deleted because somebody keep's being over sensitive. That's why I haven't been on much in the last week, It's starting to feel like a waste of time.

 

Somebody seems to report me before i post in here^^...I was unable to post in this thread (glitch?)....

But anyway, the Cloud is growing and new "fonctionality" will be add over time.

I for one hope ALL games are allowed to leverage the cloud resources and aren't held back by the consumer.
