  1. Cloud and local file issue

I’m playing starfield. Couple days ago I turned on series X the same way I always do. Click on starfield, and I get a pop up saying what file do I want to continue using, Xbox local files or cloud files, the problem is I’m 5 days ahead of both these files and done numerous things since then, if I click on one will I lose my current data? Can this be fixed to start syncing on my current game? Please help ! Thanks

    :)

    Cloud and local file issue

    Hello jason c madrigal,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, you are trying to play the game Starfield and letting you choose which game file saved data you will be using. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

If we may ask, have you played the game in different devices like PC or has been playing the game offline?

When you are playing the game online and connected with Xbox network, your data is stored on both your hard drive and in the cloud. Xbox keeps your important data in sync. If you disconnect from the network while playing a game, you can continue playing, but if you're not connected when you leave the game, your game save won’t be uploaded to the cloud.

Selecting cloud files, are the most up to date since your game saved data is automatically saved both in your hard drive and in the cloud.

By the way, we have found official article that outline how does the save system work in Starfield provided by the game developer. Here are the details:

    Save Early and Save Often!

Starfield creates several autosaves of your progress by default, this will usually occur when changing location in-game. You will also have several autosave options available under Settings>Gameplay.

    • Save on Rest: Enables autosaving on sleeping.
    • Save on Wait: Enables autosaving on waiting.
    • Save on Travel: Enables autosaving on fast travel.
    • Save on Pause: Enables an autosave when pausing the game after the specified time.
    You may also save manually.

    • Quicksave: Allows you to quickly save your current file and go back to the game. This file will be overwritten whenever you perform another quicksave.
    • Save: Allows you to save a new file or save over an existing file. Saving this way keeps progression in a dedicated location that can be reaccessed repeatedly. This option is useful if you're unsure about a decision you are about to make in-game.
To manually save or load a save file, press the [Menu] button on an Xbox controller twice, or the [Esc] key on a keyboard to access the pause menu.

    Corrupt File on the Cloud

But if I delete the cloud file, won't that update push to the Xboxes and delete the files locally, including the uncorrupted file?

Fight night round 4 including the dlc pack is a rip off it won't download

This can sometimes be caused by the local save file. If you have cloud synced saves enabled, go ahead and delete the local save file then restart the download.

    Accidentally Deleted Progress in RDR2

If you saved over a file and it sync to the cloud. You game progress is lost. You can try running the Xbox Offline and see if your able to load the game from the local file.

If that doesnt work delete the local saved file like Parity said and maybe the cloud didnt catch or sync the saved game progress.
