    I haven't subscribed to the service for almost a year on my Xbox 360, and I've decided that I want to close shop. However, most of the information on the website is severely outdated, and I just want some clear info on how to do it.

    you dont

    you can only delete it off your HD and delete private info off the servers

    this does not reassociate your gamesaves or account settings to a new one

    you can change the windows live id associated with the account by following this guide

    You can turn also off auto-renewal of gold by clicking on 'my account' at the top right of the screen while you're logged in here. Is there a specific reason you'd like to delete it rather than let it go inactive?

    If you don't sign into your Xbox account within 5 years, it'll be closed. If you don't sign into your Microsoft account within 2 years the account will be closed which should also close the Xbox account.
    Is there anyway to get my account marked so it can”t be deleted
