Close/remove Xbox Profile from Microsoft account

Hi

I tryed out an Microsoft/Xbox PC Game, and in the process that created an Xbox account or Gametag or what ever its called.

I was'nt aware of the fact that the Xbox/gametag now had become some kind of integrated part of my other wise purely "professionel" association to Microsoft.

I have done som Googling, but couldnt find answers to how to remove the Xbox profile.

Some suggest its not posssible, but I hope thats not the case.

I do not want to close my Microsoft Account

I do not want to rename my GameTag

I want to remove/delete the Xbox profile from my Microsoft account.

How do i go about that?

I need to cancel my xbox live account

If you mean to remove your account from the console: Add or Remove a Microsoft Account on Xbox One

Otherwise if you want to permanently close your account: Close Microsoft Account | Xbox Microsoft Account

you can change the ms account associated with your gamertag under accounts.microsoft.com

Could you be a bit more specific as to how to do that?

If I log in to my Microsoft account, where is the option to move Gamertag to Other Account?

Microsoft Account on the Xbox Console FAQ

 

Keep a couple of things in mind.

1. There is no option to move the gamertag to a new account the only thing that you would be doing is changing the email address that is associated with the account itself.

2. If your current email is a Microsoft server email IE... @outlook.com, @live.com, @msn.com, @Hotmail.com you would not want to do this because if you remove one of those emails from the account it will then basically do away with that email and you would
have no way of getting that email back.

 

So to sum it up - you cant get rid of your gamertag - unless you delete you Microsoft account.

I dont have MS mail, so i can safely delete my MS account.

Only problem is ofc I have subscriptions, but they can be canceled and placed somewhere else than at Microsoft
