Clicking with Dolby Digital

Hey just wondering if anyone else is having issues with Dolby Digital after it was introduced in the March update. I've used Dolby Digital through both HDMI and Optical, and whenever it is set to that, I get an obnoxious clicking/crackling randomly that
I do not get if I have the output set to stereo.



I know this is not an equipment/cable issue since this only occurs when the Xbox is set to bitstream out/Dolby Digital. It's gotten to the point that I have started using stereo output despite the improved overall quality of Dolby. Has anyone else experienced
this of been able to remedy it?

No sound on xbox console using HDTV

Have you got your Xbox360 Digital Output (Under Console Settings) set to "Dolby Digital 5.1 or Dolby Digital with WMA Pro"..?? As, you will need to use "Digital Stereo", if you are using the Component HD Cable with the Xbox360...

 

Scraping sound via toslink (fiberoptic) cable when playing DVD

It is set on Digital stereo. once i hit the dolby digital 5.1 button and the dolby digital with wma pro button it starts to scratch. even on dashboard.

 

i got a crackling last night i did a hard restart and it fixed it

 

Thanks for the tip but it seems like this is a temporary fix. It was okay for like another thirty minutes after the reset but then it came back. Really hope that they get it sorted out soon.

 

MS have said they are looking into this, the last I heard was it was a codec issue which means it's software so should be fixed soon.
