clicking sound

my xbox one console is making a clicking sound as soon as i turn it on and it does not stop.. i bought it brand new less than 3 months ago.. any idea what it is?

It doesn't happen on all just a bunch of games, it seems to be my newer games.

I have it horizontal, i find it far to dangerous to have it verticle. I'm quite wild with my legs so i would probably end up kicking it over.

Is your Xbox working correctly? How loud is the clicking? Some noises are normal to hear. It would help us a lot if you could point out an area that it's coming from. Try ejecting a disc to see if it happens. If that does happen try to see if it's coming
from the left side, or by one of the fans, or another area entirely like an external hard drive plugged in.

Also, try doing a hard reset to see if that helps. With your console on hold the power button down for about 8 seconds until it turns off. After that turn it back on and see if the problem persists. If the problem does persist try unplugging it for a few
minutes and plugging it back in.

If you've determined that it's inside the console, it's definitely not a normal sound, and there is no disc in the console, and the steps above don't resolve the only solution for a hardware issue like that would be requesting a repair or trying to exchange
it at the retailer you purchased it from. If you want to do a repair you can request one here. Personally though if it's a very faint sound, and everything is working ok, you may just want to
watch it for a while. The console warranty is good for a year, so if you can't exchange for a new one at the retailer, maybe keep an eye on it for a couple months before sending it in. It could just be a a weird harmless fan click as it spins a little.

 

My xbox one is doing something similar. The noises are coming from the back of the console and none of my games or apps are working. Whenever I go to play one, it says that the game took too long to load and it says the same thing about the home page when
I first start my xbox.

Thanks for your reply, it works fine at the moment hard to explain how loud it is but i hear it even with tv volume pretty high. It sounds like a fan knocking against something and its coming from the vented side. I have done everything you suggested but
its hasnt gone away. The only time it stops is when i tilt the console. Also when i turn it of it slows to a stop. Im just worried if i let it carry on it might hurt my xbox which i had to save for a long time to be able to buy..

 

Also i have listened to friends consoles that are older than mine and they do not make this noise

if it's something like you're describing, perhaps try some compressed air so see if there is dust or something in the fans. If that doesn't work then as mentioned above you'll need to see if you can exchange it at the retail shop you purchased it at, or
do a console repair here.

 

Could this clicking noise just be expansion and contraction of the XB1s enclosure? It happens to mine all the time and it has plentiful ventilation, it's just something that happens.
