Clicking sound from thumbstick

Personally, I would not open it up. If it is still under warranty I would return it. Let us know how it goes.

Talked with Microsoft and they said to just return it for a new one. Let's hope that this time I won't get any of these unecessary issues.

I won't open it to risk the warranty. It's just at this point I am starting to wonder if I am oversensitive to these things or just unlucky. Almost every controller I owned has had a problem like this of some sort.

I am getting a new replacement now, but if that one still has some "normal" defects I am just leaving it be and buying a third party controller like Scuf or something.

You would think that buying an expensive controller means better quality, but you are wrong. I bought a elite controller and recieved it on launch day, and nothing on it worked correctly, the bumpers were shot, the dpad was unresponsive and the triggers
rubbed against something, and microsoft won't acknowledge the horrible build quality of not only the elite, but also the stock controllers too.
