Clicking 'Sign in' on the Xbox App shows no prompt/dialogue

Hello,

I turned on two-step verification. How do I sign in to an app or device that doesn’t prompt for security proofs?
Some apps (like the mail apps on some smartphones) or devices (like the Xbox 360) can't prompt you to enter a security proof when you try to sign in. If you get an incorrect password error with an app or device, you'll need to create a unique app password
to sign in.

After you sign in with your app password, you're all set to use that app or device. You will use this new app password to sign in to your device instead of your Microsoft account password.

You'll need to create and sign in with an app password once for each app or device that can't prompt you for a security proof.

1. Sign in to your Microsoft account.
   
2. Under Password and security info, tap or click Edit security info.
   
   If you're prompted for a security proof, enter it and tap or click Submit.
   
3. Under App passwords, tap or click Create a new app password.
   
   A new app password is generated and appears on your screen.
4. On your Xbox console, when you are prompted for your Microsoft account password, enter the app password that is displayed on the screen.

1. Please click Start, type "Apps & features" select that, Find "minesweeper" and click it, Click "Advanced Options", Click "Reset" you see there. Restart the app and try to sign in again.

2. Please click Start > type Troubleshoot and click it > go to the bottom and click Troubleshoot Windows Store Apps > see if it fixes any problems for that app or shows an error that wasn't fixed.

3. Please press the Win+R keys to open the Run dialog. Type WSReset.exe and click on OK. The Store and a command prompt will now open without any message. The command prompt will automatically close when the store cache has been reset. Try the app after
that.

Have you been able to sign in on the app before?

Without knowing that, please try the following:

1. Go here
https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/basic and look to see if any of your security info has "verify" next to it, if so, please verify it and it may fix the issue.

2. Update with all windows updates. Start > updates.

3. Please try to update the xbox app by going to Start > Microsoft Store > click the 3 dots icon at the top right > My Library > see if there is an arrow beside the xbox app. If you don't see the xbox app click "Show all" on the right to see them all.

4. Please click Start, type "Apps & features" select that, Find "Xbox" and click it, Click "Advanced Options", Click "Reset" you see there. Restart the app and try to sign in again.

5. Please click Start > type Troubleshoot and click it > go to the bottom and click Troubleshoot Windows Store Apps > see if it fixes any problems for the xbox app or shows an error that wasn't fixed.

6. Please press the Win+R keys to open the Run dialog. Type WSReset.exe and click on OK. The Store and a command prompt will now open without any message. The command prompt will automatically close when the store cache has been reset. Try the app after
that.

7. Go to the Microsoft Store and download the Xbox (beta) app and see if you can sign in, in that app.

8. The final step would be a powershell command reinstalling the Microsoft Store and all default apps.

Other solutions involve making sure windows updates are up to date and resetting the whole windows store via a powershell command.

If all else fails, go to the Windows Store and find Xbox (beta) and download that.

Other options would involve a powershell command that could damage your windows installation.
