Clicking noise and flashing power light

I just noticed this happening last week although it may have been doing it longer I'm unsure. It is a day one console with the latest update including the preview program update.

Here is a video of my exact problem although this is someone else's video and console.



My console does this whenever it is "awake". I have tried to hard reset and also resync my controller. The resync stops it for a couple minutes but then it starts up again.

Power Brick failure.

Power Supplies don't usually make humming noises. If your Power Supply is in a non-ventilated area it will overheat and the temperature will raise, the Power Supply may show a red light and your console may show 3 flashing red lights or no light at all.
if you encounter 3 red lights try the Flashing Lights Solution, if you encounter no power try the No Power Solution. If the Flashing Lights Solution or the No Power Solution doesn't solve your problem your Power Supply will need to be replaced.

I don't see how a clicking noise has anything to do with being in the preview program. It's a system issue. (Don't take that as being rude or anything

 

It may not but the preview updates do sometimes cause some strange issues. You indicated that resyncing your controller helped for a couple of minutes. Would it be possible to try it with a different controller?

 

Nah that's not possible Genesis. Only have one at the moment.

 

I agree with genesis it may be the preview update for the console and may have failed too install mind going to your settings - system - console info & updates and tell us if the latest update install was successful.
