  1. Clearly a software problem.

I am facing a really annoying problem on my xbox 360 wireless controller. Whenever I'm playing some games, the wireless controller randomly shuts down. Now, you may say it's a battery or signal problem. But i made enough tests to prove it is not power source
or interference. Here is what i found:

    • The problem does not happen on the xbox dashboard. I keep pressing all the buttons randomly for many minutes and it does not shuts down a single time. (witch also removes the possibility of being a mechanic problem on the buttons.)
    • It only happens during gameplay. It started on skyrim, and now its on battlefield 3 and others.
    • As example, during skyrim gameplay, the controller only shuts down whenever i attack enemies or they attack me. Now this is where it gets weird: If I'm out of "boss" combats the controller works perfectly. If i attack rabbits and stuff its fine. if i just
walk on cities and talk to people it's ok. But when i am in mission combats, the problem occurs. (Again, i press al the buttons to make sure its not mechanical problem)
    • This problem also happens in other games as i said, but with different characteristics. In battlefield 3 i couldn't find a pattern of events that cause the turn off.
    • Another strange thing is that in a few games it works perfectly. (Minecraft for example)
    Other usefull information:

    • Controller Vibration is off.
    • I tried set ups like, new batteries, cable attached and battery, no battery only cable. Same thing.

I hope i could describe the problem as clearly as possible. I really wish i could play my games normally once again. If you guys now something about it please help. Thank you.

    :)

The updates broke my HDD Oman. i imagine it was a connection problem during the update.

It came with the Xbox as the Pro pack. 60 gig HDD.

Hardware fault? It's clearly a software fault.

Are you positive vibration is turned off? I'm not trying to call you an idiot or anything but the vibration motors eat up a lot of battery and that used to happen to me a lot with poor quality batteries.
