    Clearing cache WAY too often!


    At least once a day, sometimes more, my Xbox One console locks up and won't let me select anything from my dashboard. I've been told by support that I just have to clear my cache by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and restarting. Fine, I can
    do that ... but why is this happening so often? I think it's ridiculous that I should have to clear my cache this often. All I'm doing is playing games. I'm not surfing the web, or streaming content, or anything like that. Just games that I play from disc
    or my hard drive. Is there any way to fix this so I don't have to do this every day?!

    Clearing Cache

    not your saves or your cheevos.......All downloaded game updates will be removed. So if you have downloaded an auto-update for a game, in order to play it on Xbox Live you will need to re-download it. Clearing cache WAY too often! :D

    Clearing Cache

    i was thinking about clearing my cache, i have had my xbox 360 for just over 2 years any never done it. i always delete items on my HD if i do not require them or need them for games that i dont play anymore. is it worth doing if i do those to things anyway
    and would i have to reinstall anything afterwards like i have BF3 and i CBA to download the update again as it took a while



    any advice ?

    Hi!

    Try to clear the system cache by holding down the power button for 10 secs. Problems like this often resolve this way.

    Greetings, Sm311! Thanks for bringing your question to us. JUAN is correct, clearing your cache will allow you to re-download recent updates and will not remove your game files. Is there a particular reason you're thinking about clearing your cache? If your
    update for Battlefield 3 downloaded correctly you shouldn't need to clear your cache. However, in case you ever need to do so in the future, here are the steps to take:

    support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache    . Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

    If you are not having a problem with downloaded content or Profile, you do not need to clear the cache on the hard drive.

    I have only cleared the cache once on 1 console due to update problem.

    Clearing cache will delete any recient updates that were done, thinking it might be a problem. But won't delete the game, if install, or saves.

    D33dles has it right, there's a restart console option in the settings I think that it clears the cache.
