Cleaning my console

I would like to open my console so that I could clean out all the dust from the heat sink and fan, but I’m worried it would void my warranty if I ever need to send it in for repairs.

Could someone (particularly from Microsoft) tell me if I’m safe to do so or not, please.

The safest way would be to unplug the console, take it outside and use an air-duster around the vents. This is usually sufficient to remove any build up if dust on the heatsink and fan. Dust doesn't have to be completely removed, just any large deposits.

Air-dusters (like an aerosol) can be purchased from most stationary stores or on Amazon.

Hello ReCoMbInAnT, ideally do not open the console for cleaning, because it will void the warranty if you want to use it.

Ideal to prevent the console from getting dust when not in use would be to use a cover to protect it, if you are going to use make sure that you have turned off the console completely and have not left it on stand-by.
