    Cleaning a Smoke Damaged XBox 360 Slim


    I lost my home in a fire recently, but my game consoles were far enough away that they only got smoke damaged and have some soot. I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on cleaning my XBox 360 Slim without having to open it. I have never had
    anything like this happen and I have no idea what to do to make sure it will still run. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry to hear it and glad that you're ok. However, there is no way that you'd be able to clean the console without taking it apart which is against the rules. However, I would look into either seeing about sending it in for repair or purchasing a new one.

    You should contact phone support prior to setting up a repair to see what they suggest. If you live in North America dial 1-800-469-9269.

    I appreciate the advice. Honestly, I hadn't even though of calling since I had gotten the console from Rent-a-Center and that warranty is over. I was told I could try wiping it off since the damage just seems superficial, and if that doesn't work I was
    told I could register it and see about sending it in. Again, I appreciate the advice.
