Classic gamertag error message

Clearly you didn’t read what I typed. I have the Gamertag as my classic tag because I wasn’t able to put it as my top Gamertag without it giving me #’s, but when I put it as my classic Gamertag it worked perfectly fine. Then when I go to fix it and get rid of the #’s it lets me but doesn’t go though and gives me an error message.

You actually show as having a classic gamertag and a new gamertag. So some areas will still show the old gamertag (classic gamertag).

I'm trying to change my classic gamertag which is the one you see in games. My classic gamertag got changed and my Xbox One and Xbox App gamertag stayed the same (the Xbox One gamertag is the ones they added with the new gamertag system).

My Xbox One gamertag is different to my in-game gamertag and I want my classic gamertag to be changed. You can only change your classic gamertag on the Xbox One console, I have tried using the other ways and you can only change your Xbox Gamertag, not your
classic gamertag.

The reason I want to change my classic gamertag is that the classic gamertag can be fifteen characters and the Xbox One gamertag can only be 12 characters. If I use the other ways to change my gamertag it limits me to 12 characters and sets both my gamertags
to that.

New gamertag is shown on games that support new gamertag format including new characters

The old gamertag is called the classic which is used for games that doesn't support the new system like old games etc

You.want to customize.which means you need to.select upto 15 characters wirh only Asics characters however you are still restricted by gamertag rules unlike modern names which give you a hashtag

With classic your name.must.be unique and will return already taken error sibcw you arent using a hashtag

Basically come up with a unique name for older titles
