    Claiming free Xbox 360 Games via gold


    Each month I claim the free xbox gold games, but the past few months it isn't letting me claim the xbox 360 games, as when I go to claim it, it says I have no valid payment optinon. I click change payment option and it says Microsoft account balances cannot
    be used in this purchase channel. I'm a little confused as to why this is saying this, as I have a card and paypal on my payment options for xbox.

    When Xbox games with gold existed u get Xbox 360 games free and Xbox one games free. The Xbox one games u claim for free are only free with a gold subscription when it was gold. Now it's gamepass core. But when Xbox games with gold was a thing the Xbox 360 games u get for free are permanent. But Xbox one games are not. U have to keep ur gamepass core to have access to your free to play Xbox one games with gamepass core that u claimed with gold back then.

    you can easily claim them through the microsoft website: login with your xbox account and “buy” the game: being a gold member it will be free for you. Check if it says FREE of course

    Are you trying to claim the throug xbox or website? I recommend using xbox to do so an change the payment method to a credit/debit card in payment options

    I have read on the xbox website that only xbox 360 users are going to be able to download and get xbox 360's games and merchandise. And any newer systems will not have access to the "outdated" 360 items from the store any longer. I may have misunderstood.
    But I think xbox and Microsoft are cutting off the 360 platform and servers pretty soon. As a 360 user myself, not what I want to see happen, because it just means that I have to buy a newer system to enjoy my xbox live experience.
