Claim gold titles for 360 on xbox one?

Now that backward compatibility is launched on xbox one, i remember seeing that you would be able to have the free 360 titles on your xbox one as well. So xbox one would effectively have 4 games to claim a month?

I cant find out if this is true or possible. How do i claim all 4 gold titles on my xbox one?

Games with gold

Yes. Once you claim a game with gold title for xbox 360 it's yours to play forever, even if you don't have an active xbox live gold subscription.

You only need a credit card to claim Xbox 360 gold titles that are backwards compatible.

Hello Hachiirou,

If you go to Xbox Games Store you can "purchase" the free Xbox 360 games which adds them to your purchase history. Then, on your Xbox One, go to My Games & Apps and scroll to the right-hand
side to see a list called "Ready to Install" and you should see the Xbox 360 games there. Simply hit A to download them.

You can also use an actual Xbox 360 to "purchase" the games, but it sounds like you might not have access to one, so the web marketplace is the best avenue for this.

Just to add, you will need a payment method on file in order to purchase the games from the website. The website has never been updated to work with the currency system for 360 content, so it will look for a credit card or Paypal even if you're purchasing
free content.

Games With Gold games are only available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One and are only downloadable from the consoles, you can't get them any other way.

I'm afraid that's not entirely correct. It is correct that Games with Gold titles are only compatible for the console for which they are released; for example, claiming "Tekken 6" this month for Xbox 360 does not grant access on PC or any other non-Xbox
device. Since the game is back-compatible on Xbox One, it can be played there, too, of course.

However, when a user visits the Xbox Store on the web and they are signed on with their Microsoft account, any subscriptions/entitlements are taken into consideration when reviewing a title. For example, if the game is part of Games with Gold, the user can
go ahead and claim the title on the web, then install it when they get to their console.

When Games With Gold first appeared for Xbox One, many users still just had Xbox 360. Major Nelson himself advised Gold subscribers to go ahead and claim Xbox One titles if they planned on upgrading to Xbox One in the future.

Be aware that you need an active Gold membership to play claimed Games with Gold titles.

While you "own" Xbox 360 titles forever, you "rent" Xbox One Games with Gold titles for as long as you have an active Gold membership.

If you don't have a Gold membership, you lose access to your Xbox One Games with Gold.
