Cisco CT8685DVB HD set top box not work with OneGuide from VirginMedia Ireland

The CT8685DVB box is recognized on a list of supported products when you enter the set top box product code directly. However I have tried all the tests and OneGuide cannot recognize the infrared signal, therefore cannot control switching TV channels via
kinect voice commands or joypad inputs.

Did anyone else find the infrared code for this Cisco product to enter it manually?

    :)

Thanks, I'm assuming you tried to go through your set top box setup with either TWC or Cisco as the brand?

You can go through it again by going to TV & OneGuide settings -> devices -> cable/satellite box. From there you can try to detect the STB again.

If neither Cisco nor Time Warner work as brands. You can try typing in the Cisco model #.

If that doesn't work, here's a crazy idea that worked for TWC Samsung STB users - Go through STB detection with Comcast as the brand (don't change any guide stuff, just for your cable box setup).

  3. Hello Neiman
    Hello Neiman Guest
Which Comcast/Xfinity setup and cable box provide the best OneGuide experience?

I currently have just the Basic package from Xfinity (i.e.FOX, WCCO, WB, KMSP, etc.), though the Cisco RNG150N cable box. I do not have any HD channels, and the viewing experience on the OneGuide works, but is dismal. I do not want 100 channels, just the
basic 10 to work in my OneGuide

I'd rather not buy in to extremely expensive cable channels and box upgrades, so what is the best recommendation I can ask Xfinity for? Which cable box should I ask for, and which channel cable package is required to see standard channels in HD format.
    Thank you for your recommendations!

June update now released to general public

Has anyone tried using a Freesat HD or Freeview HD set top box with the One Guide, if so how does it work and what set top box would recommend me to buy?

    Cheers

    ZIP code trouble

Well Ola, as mentioned in this
    TV & OneGuide article
, OneGuide and TV on the Xbox One requires a set top box from your cable or satellite provider. You're able to view the channels because you entered your region and provider, but the Xbox One console relies on a set top box to grab
that content, which is why you see that error. Do you happen to have a set top box from your cable provider?

use box one for tv remote

Hi AlanKeay! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

This page describes the requirements for using OneGuide on Xbox One, so you can access live TV from your console.

OneGuide only supports a limited set of features or menus on set-top boxes. You’ll have to use your remote to access other features on your set-top box.
