Chrome controller - worth the extra money?

Hey guys,

since my old controller is getting too unreliable, I want to buy a new one. The only question is: should I buy the classic black one or the chrome series controller? The chrome costs three halves the price of the classic, so I want to know if it's worth
it. I read somewhere the chrome version lacks the anti slipping points on the thumbsticks (it may not be the official name). I'm interested in feel - is it comfortable to play with the controller even after long gaming session (3-5 hours)? And does it have
any advantages over the classic version? I don't really care about looks.

Transforming D-pad

I am planning on investing in the new controller also. The Red Chrome Transforming D-Pad. $65 seems worth to me to be able to perform the moves properly in Mortal Kombat

Futureshop is selling the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Limited Edition Wireless Controller" it comes with the Transforming D-Pad.

It's on sale for 39$ this week (that's 30$ off). But the Red Chrome does look cooler.

I've had owned both, my preference is the classic black. They don't have the anti slip 'dots' like the classic controllers have but they have a 'ridge' around the thumbsticks (If you look at a picture you can see what I'm talking about better). I liked this
a lot better because unlike the 'dots' it didn't wear down. Another difference with the chrome series is the D-Pad can transform from the normal look to a disc. I know some people say they have better game play when they can transform the D-Pad, I didn't see
a difference when I played though. (There could be more differences though, these are just the ones I noticed from mine).

The only other thing I noticed was my classic black has lasted a lot longer than my chrome controller did. It could have just been a coincidence though.

The differences mentioned by SlappyPenguin x are the only differences as far as I know.

So it's all up to you, if you feel that it is worth the money difference.
